Join Culture House in watching Ava DuVernay's 2016 documentary 13th. 13th is an in-depth look into the prison system in the United States and how it reveals the nation's history of racial inequality.
After the film, take a look at the work of the Freedom Through Art Collective, on display at CultureHouse until August 31st. The Freedom Through Art Collective, facilitated by two Boston residents, has been shaped by 26 incarcerated members. The aim of the collective is to give incarcerated artists a chance to share their work, collaborate with each other, make space for conversation, and financially benefit artists by selling their work.
