Every summer at North Plaza, students, faculty, and alumni from Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee perform free concerts as part of the Berklee Summer in the City concert series. The performances take place through the end of September. The series presents a variety of genres, including folk, jazz, R&B, Latin, pop, and opera as part of its programming. Notable performers include electronic duo Sleeping Lion, metal and jazz vocalist and composer Haydee Irizarry, Panamanian saxophonist Samuel Batista, R&B performer Kyle Thornton, and Madagascar-born vocalist Niu Raza.

Today we welcome Fryderyk Hoang Dong. Fryderyk Hoang Dong, born in Poland to Vietnamese parents, began studying classical music at age 6. Majoring in piano performance at Berklee College of Music, he is working on an original repertoire that draws from jazz, soul, fusion, and minimal music.
